Candy Bar Cookies
You won’t have any difficulty recruiting volunteers to help unwrap the candy bars and shape the dough for this luscious cookie with its toffee-like center.

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 4 (2.07-ounce) chocolate-coated caramel, nougat and peanut candy bars, chopped
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Sift flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt into a medium bowl.
Combine butter and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until creamy. Add sugar and mix well. Beat in egg yolks one at a time.
Add flour mixture to creamed mixture and beat until well mixed. Fold in candy.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Arrange 2 inches apart on baking sheets. Bake until golden, about 10 minutes. Let stand to cool for 2 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Secret Tip
Short on time? Try using a package of refrigerated sugar cookie dough. Cut the dough into rounds, then press a bit of chopped candy bar into the center of each one. Bake as the package directs.
