Prep Time:
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
- 4 medium bananas
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- Vanilla ice cream
- Ground cinnamon
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F. Slice bananas. Divide evenly among 4 individual ramekins.
Combine 2 tablespoons butter and lemon juice in a small bowl and mix well. Drizzle over bananas.
Combine the oats, walnuts, brown sugar and remaining butter in a small bowl and mix well. Sprinkle evenly over bananas.
Bake until bananas are hot and topping is bubbly, about 12 minutes. Serve with ice cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Secret Tip
For a tropical taste, use lime juice instead of lemon juice and add 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger. Substitute coconut for the walnuts, which can also save you the time it takes to chop walnuts.
