Expect chocolate euphoria in this light-as-air dessert that combines cookie crumbs and mousse-like filling and is ready in minutes.
Prep Time:
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 1 (5.9-ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 (8-ounce) package frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 18 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed, divided
- 3/4 cup sliced almonds, divided
Directions
Combine milk and pudding mix in a medium bowl. Beat with a whisk for 2 minutes. Chill, covered, for 5 minutes.
Combine whipped topping, cream cheese and almond extract in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
Place half the cookie crumbs in the bottom of a large serving dish. Spread half the whipped topping mixture
over the cookie crumbs. Sprinkle with half the almonds.
Spread with pudding and remaining whipped topping mixture. Sprinkle with remaining cookie crumbs and remaining almonds. Chill until serving time.
Secret Tip
Using softened cream cheese is especially important in this dessert. Cream cheese that is still firm can be difficult to fully blend into the chocolate mixture, leaving little lumps of unblended cream cheese in the finished product.
