Ingredients
- 1 (29-ounce) can sliced peaches, drained
- 1 (20-ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
- 1 (11-ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
- 1 (10-ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained
- 2 medium bananas, sliced
- 1 cup crushed vanilla wafers
- 1 cup crushed vanilla wafers
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter, softened
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Combine peaches, pineapple, mandarin oranges, maraschino cherries and bananas in a 2-quart baking dish and mix well.
Combine wafer crumbs, almonds, brown sugar and butter in a medium bowl and mix well. Sprinkle over fruit.
Bake until hot and bubbly, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Secret Tip
Canned fruit can sometimes have a slightly tinny flavor. Adding just 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg will freshen the canned flavor and give the crisp a certain mysterious and warm fragrance.
