Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
  • 1 (5-ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 5 ounces processed cheese spread
  • 2 tablespoons chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups chopped cooked ham
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms

Directions

  1. Cook pasta in enough boiling water to cover in a large saucepan for 5 minutes. Add broccoli to boiling water and return to a boil. Cook until pasta is tender, about 2 to 3 minutes; drain. Return pasta mixture to saucepan.

  2. Combine evaporated milk, cheese, bouillon, butter, nutmeg, garlic salt and black pepper in a medium bowl and mix well. Add to pasta mixture and mix well.

  3. Stir in ham and mushrooms. Cook, stirring frequently, until cheese is melted, about 3 minutes. Serve immediately.

Secret Tip

Did you forget to thaw the broccoli? No problem-just add it to the saucepan frozen and adjust the cooking times. Stir the pasta into the boiling water, wait 1 minute, then add the frozen broccoli. Cook until both the pasta and broccoli are tender, about 7 to 8 minutes.
