Shredded Potatoes au Gratin

Shredded Potatoes au Gratin

Using frozen shredded hash brown potatoes takes the work out of this traditional potato classic, so the cook can just sit back and enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound frozen shredded hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Combine hash brown potatoes, whipping cream, 11/4 cups Cheddar, green onions, salt and black pepper in a large bowl and mix well.

  3. Spoon potato mixture into four individual 1-cup baking dishes or one 11 ยด 7-inch baking dish.

  4. Sprinkle with the remaining Cheddar. Bake until hot and bubbly, about 25 minutes.

Secret Tip

Preshredded Cheddar cheese is a time-saver, but shredding your own is a snap using a food processor or box grater. You can shred large amounts, then freeze the excess for later use.
