Fruity Coleslaw
Fruit mixed with coleslaw-a real crowd pleaser- is so easy to make, it will please the cook, too.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds shredded cabbage
- 2 (10-ounce) cans mandarin oranges, drained
- 1 medium Granny Smith apple, shredded
- 1 medium green bell pepper, shredded
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons white-wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/16 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Directions
Combine cabbage, mandarin oranges, apple and bell pepper in a large bowl and mix well.
Combine mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, milk and cayenne pepper in a small bowl and mix until smooth.
Pour the mayonnaise mixture over cabbage mixture and toss to mix.
Chill mixture, covered, until serving time.
Secret Tip
The shredded apple in this recipe lends a fresh and fruity flavor as well as a crisp and crunchy texture. To keep the apple from turning brown, toss it in 2 tablespoons vinegar after shredding. Don't drain, since the recipe calls for the vinegar anyway.
