Piggy Wraps
This longtime family favorite gets a new twist from a topping of poppy and sesame seeds before going into the oven.
Prep Time:
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 (8-count) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 (8-count) package hot dogs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
Separate crescent roll dough into 8 triangles. Cut each triangle in half lengthwise to make 2 triangles.
Trim the ends of each hot dog and cut in half.
Wrap each hot dog half with a dough triangle, starting at the wide end. Arrange, point sides down, on prepared baking sheet.
Sprinkle with poppy seeds and sesame seeds. Bake until golden, about 13 minutes. Serve with warm barbecue sauce.
Secret Tip
The sesame seeds and poppy seeds will adhere better to the crescent roll dough if you spread the seeds on a plate or on waxed paper, then roll the pigs in blankets over the seeds. Or you may brush the dough first with beaten egg white.
