Ingredients

  • 1 frozen puff pastry sheet, thawed
  • 1 egg white, beaten
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pistachios
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Romano cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.

  2. Unfold pastry. Roll into a 12-inch square on a lightly floured surface.

  3. Brush pastry with egg white. Sprinkle with pistachios and paprika. Fold in half, pressing edges to seal. Brush with remaining egg white. Sprinkle with Romano.

  4. Cut into 1/2-inch-wide strips. Twist strips and arrange on a baking sheet. Bake until golden, about 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Secret Tip

Many supermarkets have two areas stocked with nuts-baking supplies and snacks. Pecans and walnuts are typically stocked in both places, whereas pistachios are generally only stocked with nuts for snacking.
