Ingredients

  • 16 ounces linguine
  • 8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter
  • 1/3 cup frozen chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon refrigerated minced garlic
  • 2 (6 1/2-ounce) cans minced clams
  • 2 (6 1/2-ounce) cans minced clams
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Cook pasta using package directions; drain.

  2. Meanwhile, melt butter in a medium saucepan. Sauté onion and garlic in hot butter until golden.

  3. Drain clams, reserving about 2/3 cup liquid. Add reserved liquid to onion mixture. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Stir in clams and parsley.

  4. Cook, stirring occasionally, until heated through, about 2 to 3 minutes.

  5. Combine clam mixture and pasta in a pasta bowl and toss to coat. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Serve immediately.

Secret Tip

Since Linguine with Clam Sauce has so few ingredients, use only the best quality. It's worth the time to chop fresh garlic. Seek out premium quality canned clams, available in whole food supermarkets and gourmet stores.
