Sesame Chicken Pitas
Tiny little sesame seeds are packed with lots of savory, nutty goodness that’s especially good with chicken.
Prep Time:
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken-breast halves
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Shredded lettuce
- Chopped tomato
- 4 pita pockets
Directions
Preheat broiler. Cut chicken into 1-inch cubes.
Mix sesame seeds, Worcestershire sauce, water, sugar, chili powder and garlic powder in a large bowl.
Add chicken to Worcestershire sauce mixture and toss to coat.
Arrange chicken on a broiler pan. Broil, turning once, until chicken is cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Stuff chicken, lettuce and tomato into pita pockets.
Secret Tip
Lettuce can be cut with a knife, if it is used right away. Cut off the top third of a head of iceberg lettuce and place cut side down on a work surĀface. Make horizontal cuts every quarter inch or less, then make crosswise cuts into shorter pieces.
